I have made no secret of my political leanings over the years, and presently quite disappointed in a Labour Party that promised change, but all we are hearing and seeing is more of the same hackneyed financial policies that we have been stuck with since 2010 and instigated as far back as 1979. Things won't change when the establishment is happy with its lot.
All right Jack
Have you recently opened your eyes,
when you do your in for a big surprise,
the papers won’t tell you the real news,
so don't look down at your shoes,
irrespective of an anti-political view,
it really is up to you.
Whether you stand for red, yellow, green or blue,
papers won’t tell you the facts that are true,
they aren’t free to tell it like it is,
they are owned by self-interest bosses.
more rich, old, white profiteers,
fighting to advance personal frontiers.
Driving workforces through the gears,
paying lip service to advancing careers,
you're simply a number don’t need a name,
look in the mirror to see who's to blame,
your chances of clawing humanity back,
slim - motto is ‘I’m all right jack’.
You don’t need a salesman to prattle or pose,
‘if you buy one of these you get a free one of those’,
creating different terms like shrink-flation,
to ensure greater profit acquisition,
no limit in their creativity sack,
as long as they feel ‘I’m all right jack’.
You don’t need the queues for assistance and for dole,
taxation, inflation, population control,
if you listen to the tills you can hear bells ring,
and the carols of fiscal choirs sing,
you don’t need a man with a brick in his hand
or a glass in your face so you know where you stand.
Open your eyes and assess the system,
look at what you have become accustomed,
is it right to increase the number of poor,
the number not getting up from the floor,
so that the rich can keep filling their sack,
and proclaim with pride - ‘I’m all right Jack’.
